Senior Driving/Parking Privileges
Good morning, Senior Families-
I want to take a moment to highlight some driving changes surrounding seniors driving to and from school. Please pay close attention to the information below and share it with your child who might not be checking Schoology just yet.
First and foremost, if your child is a senior, has a license, insurance, a vehicle, and your parental permission then they are welcome to drive to Saranac on the first day of school. We are giving seniors the grace period of the first two weeks of school to obtain proper paperwork from the main office, complete it, provide us with proper documentation, and return the signed and completed paperwork to the main office. This MUST be completed no later than Friday, September 12th in order for them to be able to continue to drive to Saranac.
From there, they will be issued a yearlong designated parking spot number alongside a parking tag. They will notice (if they have not already) the parking lot is now numbered. The designated parking spot/section is the only place your senior can park for the year as other spots are designated to other students and staff. Please reiterate this with them and encourage them to be mindful and respectful of this.
During the first few days of school, before designated spots have been issued, seniors can only park in the designated student parking sections. These sections are the following spots: #54-94 & #138-170 and are highlighted in yellow below. Please refer to the map below for where your senior is able to park in preparation for the first day (highlighted in yellow).
For those of students who attend CV-TEC or New Visions, per their administration, only New Vision students are allowed to drive to campus during the first week of school. Everyone else must take the bus to and from CV-TEC. More information will be forthcoming from CV-TEC administration during the first few days of classes.
Finally, given spots are now accounted for, if you find yourself picking up students or dropping them off in the morning or afternoon, please do not just park anywhere as faculty/staff also have designated parking spots assigned to them and you might actually be in an assigned one. We appreciate your help with this matter.
Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out. Otherwise, enjoy the rest of summer with your child and we look forward to welcoming your senior back with us on September 4th!
