Senior Drivers and High School Parking Lot

Posted Date: 08/11/26 (02:30 PM)

Good afternoon, Saranac Families!

First and foremost, if your child is a senior, has a valid driver’s license, insurance, a vehicle, and your parental permission, they are welcome to drive to Saranac High School on the first day of school! We are providing seniors with a grace period to submit the required paperwork. All paperwork must be completed and submitted no later than Friday, September 11th in order for students to continue driving to Saranac High School. Once the paperwork is complete, the main office will issue each student a designated parking spot for the 2026–2027 school year, along with a parking tag. Paperwork can be completed here: https://www.parentsquare.com/schools/28647/signable_form_templates/91061

During the first few days of school, before assigned parking spots have been issued, seniors may only park in the designated student parking section along the fence by the baseball field. This area is also labeled on the diagram below. Please share this information with your senior so they are aware of where they should park on the first day of school.

For students who attend CV-TEC or New Visions: Per CV-TEC administration, only New Visions students are permitted to drive to campus during the first week of school. All other students must take the bus to and from CV-TEC. Additional information regarding this will come directly from CV-TEC administration during the first few days of classes.

I understand that there is also interest among our juniors in obtaining driving privileges this year. Due to our increasing enrollment and limited parking capacity, we are only extending driving privileges to seniors at the start of the school year. Once our seniors have been accommodated, if there are remaining spaces in the student parking areas, we will consider extending driving privileges to juniors on a case-by-case basis. This process will be strictly dependent on available space and administrative approval. If additional spaces become available, more information will be shared by administration; however, this will not occur until after the first few weeks of school.

Below, you will find a diagram outlining the high school parking lot, as well as the designated route for student drop-off in the morning and pick-up in the afternoon. Please follow the designated route to help ensure an efficient process and, most importantly, the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. You will also notice that this year there is a dedicated guest parking row for visitors and substitute teachers to use throughout the school day. We ask that visitors please use only the designated guest parking area, as all other parking spaces will be assigned and accounted for.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you for your help and cooperation as we work to make the start of the school year as smooth and safe as possible for everyone. Enjoy the rest of the summer with your children! We are looking forward to welcoming our students back to Saranac High School on September 3rd. Go Spartans!
